Fees and Insurance

While MCCS has a standard fee for services comparable to standard fees in our catchment area, in compliance with the Samaritan Institute and the American Association of Pastoral Counselors guidelines we can use a fee-adjusted scale based on household income and family size. Fees for psychotherapy are negotiated between the client and the therapist.

Insurance coverage may be available and is determined on a case-by-case basis. Prior authorization by the insurance carrier may be necessary to determine availability, deductible, and co-pay.

Clients who lack insurance coverage or who have insufficient financial resources to afford the “going rate” for counseling services may inquire about the MCCS Samaritan Client Assistance Fund (“Samaritan Fund”). The Samaritan Fund works along with the MCCS fee-adjusted scale to offset the cost of counseling and psychotherapy services for individuals, couples and families who are otherwise not able to be reimbursed for, or to afford, the desired services. The Samaritan Fund is designed to help persons who cannot help themselves get the care they need, deserve, and desire. Assistance from the Samaritan Fund is contingent upon client need as well as the availability of funds.

The following forms are used for clients seeking to use insurance coverage.  Use the Flowchart to determine coverage. Fill out the Authorization Form and include a photocopy of your insurance card (front and back).  Bring all documents to your initial session.
