Confidentiality
At MCCS, we value the trust you put in us. The therapeutic relationship you establish with your counselor and with MCCS is a personal and private matter. As such we adhere to the strict standards of professional confidentiality as found in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC) Code of Ethics and American Counseling Association (ACA) Code of Ethics. MCCS is also HIPAA compliant (Privacy.pdf).
On occasion your therapy may be assisted by our requesting information from other professionals with whom you have had contact. No contact will be made with any outside person and/or agency, however, without your written permission.
Your informed consent is vital to your care. Therefore it should be known that exceptions to the standards of confidentiality include those situations in which you present a danger to yourself or others, when child or elder abuse is involved, or when court ordered.
