Stacey Watkins-Griffith, D.Min.

Credentials:  Dr. Watkins-Griffith is a North Carolina Certified Fee-Based Practicing Pastoral Counselor.  She is a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and an ordained Elder in the Western North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church.  Previously, Dr. Watkins-Griffith worked on the staff of the Presbyterian Samaritan Counseling Center.

Specialties:  Dr. Watkins-Griffith works with individuals, couples and families, on a variety of issues including grief and loss, depression, anxiety, stress management, marital issues, infertility, self-esteem, navigating life transitions and spiritual growth.  She has a particular interest in issues related to women’s psycho-social development and spiritual growth.

Education:  Dr. Watkins-Griffith  completed her Doctor of Ministry degree in Pastoral Counseling and Psychotherapy at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in 2004.  The title of her doctoral dissertation is “A Garden of Healing:  Unearthing and Nurturing the Images of God of Victims of Domestic Violence.”  She completed her clinical training through the Carolina Institute for Clinical Pastoral Training.  She completed her Master of Divinity degree at Duke University in 1994 and her undergraduate work at the University of Florida in 1991.

Central United Methodist Church in Shelby is also located downtown. It can be reached from US 74 by taking Business 74, which becomes Marion St.


The church is located in the heart of downtown Shelby and will be on your left at the corner of DeKalb Street and Marion St. It may also be reached by turning east off of US 74 onto DeKalb Street . Shelby High School is located on the west side of US 74.
